Ikea Diaper Changing Cart

“This post is part of a social shopper marketing insight campaign with Pollinate Media Group® and NicePak, but all my opinions are my own. #pmedia #NicenCleanatHEB  http://my-disclosur.es/OBsstV

Adding a new baby to a household is a big change and those first few weeks are a blur to most of us. In our case, sissy also came with a repeat C-section which meant moving and doing as little as possible to recuperate.

Hence the idea of this diaper cart. The baby room is upstairs and per doctors recommendations I’ve tried to go upstairs as little as possible, meaning my husband has been restocking it and having it ready for us to use. Last time around we used a playpen that had a little carry bag on the side and it was less than effective. I also thought about getting baskets and setting them in our restroom closet but that would defeat the purpose of having everything close to me.

What I love the most, is I can roll the cart around the house and to either side of the bed. It’s perfect and you can customize it to fit your needs.

What our Cart includes:

1st tier: We put here the items we used the most.

Diapers: Bamboo Nature Diapers are a new addition to our house! We love them and are using them for both Bella and sissy.

Nice’ n Clean Baby Wipes: Another new addition to our household. As a mom with a toddler and a baby, I can never have too many wipes for hands, bottoms and even stinky feet. We use so many daily it’s out of this world and I love that Nice’n Clean wipes are chemical free and come in a very quiet package to avoid waking baby up. As a seasoned mom, I have learned to find the best products for our family. Products that are sensitive and also clean for our environment and I’m happy to say that is not ridiculously priced and can be found at your nearest HEB scented and unscented.

Creams and sanitizer: We tend to not use a lot of lotions on our babies skin but always have the basics, diaper rash cream, a scent free lotion, and a hand sanitizer.

The last item in our top tier is burp clothes. I made these before baby sissy was born and we only store about 4-6 of them in the cart at a time.

2nd Tier: Clothes

This tier is pretty simple. I separated this tier with two baskets, also from Ikea, with Newborn pajamas and pants and tees. I also have a little basket with socks, gloves, and hats. Lastly, a cute little pink baggie from Target with bows, because a girl can never have too many bows.

3rd Tier: Extra Items

On this tier, I have everything extra. That is extra hats, extra Nice’ n Clean wipes, changing pad liner, Halo sheets, and thin blankets.

Like I said above, the best part of this cart is that you can customize it to fit your needs. Anything and everything you may need and if you don’t use it you can pack it differently the next time. Being a mom is not about knowing everything and having everything under control. It’s about doing your best and finding what works for you and your family.

All of these products work for us and fit our family perfectly. Now tell me about your favorite products and how do they fit your life?

If you are interested in trying Nice’ n Clean Wipes head to your local HEB and try them today.

Valentines Day Basket for Him

This post is sponsored by Vanilla Gift Card. As always all thoughts and opinions are 100% my own.

Valentine’s day is around the corner and for us, it’s a very busy corner indeed. Baby sissy will be here before we know it or even on Valentine’s day if she decides to stay in, which means this mama is prepping all V-day goodies ahead of time including daddy’s Valentine’s day gift.

For the last 6-8 years, I have been doing a gift a day for the hubby starting on the 1st of February until the 14th. Nothing too big but things that make us really appreciate each other. Since our anniversary is today (01/24), Valentine’s day a few days later and my birthday a week later, and just because we like to have fun we added one girly in February and one in March, you know to keep things sweet.

Over the years the gifts have been very simple, but things I know he loves, like his favorite chocolates, gummies, slippers and just anything I know he needs with a sweet note and a corky saying. Gifts don’t have to be expensive it’s all about the sentiment behind them and this year we are making him a basket.

Valentine’s Day Basket for Him;

The key to this basket is finding things your partner loves. In my case my hubby loves sweets.

Chocolate, gummies and everything sweet and of course I included all of those.

Some goodies for his car because let’s be honest most men love their cars.

Toiletries. My husband usually has a little bag with him at work where he has an extra toothbrush, cologne, and toothpaste and I notice that he needed a replacement. If your husband doesn’t keep something like this you can always upgrade his wallet or toiletries for the house.

Talking about the house. We declutter our drawers a few weeks ago and he mentioned he wanted to get some baskets for his watches, contacts, and glasses and I got him just that. Again something he needed and will appreciate it when he sees it. If you want to be extra sweet, organize everything for him!

Lastly, I added a handwritten card and a Vanilla Gift card so he can purchase anything he wants. He’ll most likely spend it all at Home Depot purchasing things for the house.

Most of these can be purchased at one store while your running an errand, but all it matters is that our special guy feels special and we get to show him just how much we love him.

Next week I’ll be sharing a basket for kids and a few last minute items you can add yours.

How do you celebrate Valentine’s day with your partner?

How to Make Toddler Meal time Easier

This post was sponsored by Yummy Spoonfuls as part of an Influencer Activation and all opinions expressed in my post are my own.

If you have a toddler you know how difficult meal time is, especially dinner time.

In our house, we have tried everything we no results. Bella refuses to eat anything and everything that doesn’t come in the form of milk. It was acceptable at 1 and a half but now at almost four, I’ve had enough. Some days are worse than others and those worse days are multiplied by the fact that I’m pregnant and now in my third trimester. So how have we solved it?

We haven’t, to be completely honest, but recently we found 3 ways to help us at through this time.

  1. Smoothies. I know it’s not the best option for everyone but I have given it a try a few times and it worked. She had all of it. The only con is not having a full sit down meal with the entire family.
  2. Hide everything in a sauce. Again not helpful in every meal but if I make spaghetti with lots of sauce or soup I can guarantee she’ll eat it. Con, not everything can be hidden in a sauce.
  3. Yummy Spoonfuls. Yummy Spoonfuls is an actual meal containing veggies and all. I love that’s organic and made by 2 moms who just like you and I that wanted better meals for their kids. They even have chicken nuggets which every parent knows is the gateway to any kid. I love reading the ingredients list and knowing everything inside the meals. Bella is getting use to it and slowly but surely getting to love them. She picks the nuggets over anything (Chicken Sweet Potato bites). They have high protein, not that she needs more energy, but it helps her with her muscle development.

Now, tell me what do you make for your kids?

If you are interested in learning more about  Yummy Spoonfuls, here is a bit more information about the company.

  • USDA Organic and Non-GMO
  • Provides a balanced meal specifically for toddlers
  • Clean Label Certified
  • Provides more than 65% daily required protein for growing toddlers
  • High protein content for strong muscle development – an essential for growing toddlers

You can find them at your local Walmart and as promised your Ibotta coupon.

Thank You

Hey Mamas!

Happy Tuesday! I’m working hard on posting on here more and this is one of my favorite types of post! Not that I considered myself a fashion blogger, but I love sharing what I wear and the real me. Let’s be honest sometimes we get the blogger title and people think that we spend our days looking fancy and I’m here to tell you otherwise, but something I wear all the time and is definitely my cold weather favorite is black leggings.

No that I have a little, not so little, soccer ball attached I can always rely on Blanqi leggings to save my day and make me look put together. In reality most of the time I feel like I’m wearing PJ and that’s the goal for every pregnant mama.

As for the rest of the look, I love these simple long sleeved from GAP (non-maternity) and Hunter boots. My boots have been one of my biggest splurges but I use them often, so it makes it worth it. On top of that, I love the crochet vest from Thred Up. I’ve posted about Thred Up before, but if you haven’t heard about them, you need to check them out! You can even make some cash by selling them your used clothing items.

They have beautiful pieces with many of them being new with tags.

Check the girls below for daily outfit inspiration and their cold weather favorites.

The Ultimate Baby Registry List

baby registry

I have partnered with BuyBuyBaby for this post, but all opinions are my own.

This post contains affiliate links which helps us keep this blog going!

Thanks for your support

Where and what do you register for?

We all get this question about 2000 times at the end of our pregnancies. Everyone always asks and whether your a first-time mom or an experienced mama we google it all. Google always has the answers right? All thousand of them, many extra and many with little to nothing.

I won’t go into everything that should register for because items like cribs, dressers and changing tables are pretty much self-explanatory but I will share a few items that I believe every mom should have and where exactly to find them.

Nowadays all the stores are doing baby registries, but my only tip for all of us moms is to find a store that suits you. In my case, this meant a store that helped me through the process of becoming a mom of two and basically made my life easier.

I went to BuyBuyBaby and I was very pleased with my experience and the fact that all of my questions and concerned were answered right there and then. On top of that, I was able to edit my registry online and have my husband add a few items he thought were good as well.

I know it may seem like a lot, but my hope with this registry is to make your life as a mom easier.

A travel system: I mentioned this in a previous post but our love for Chicco runs deep. They have affordable pricing, great rated products and they keep our kids very very safe! I trust this brand full heartedly.

Cover: No matter where you live you’ll need a cover. You can get one as big as this one or the one listed if you live somewhere hotter.

Diaper Bag: Diaper Bags are a must. We all love them and have our favorite but for my registry, I usually tend to pick one for daddy. Daddy is always carrying my bag or the car seat (sometimes both) so I love to get something he can feel comfortable carrying around.

Baby Carrier: I wore Bella so much and I can guarantee the same will happen with baby sissy. It’s the best way to get things done around the house. Believe me.

Halo: This is a first-time item for us, we never had it and I remember hurting so bad everytime I had to put Bella down after a feeding. This eliminates the standing up part and bending down. Perfect for C-section mamas.

Rock-and-play: After having a home daycare for years, this is the one product I can’t live without.

Mattress: The list of a mattress is pretty extensive everywhere you go. The reason we picked this one for baby sissy is that its a breathable mattress. A must in my books.

Mattress Pad Cover: You cannot forget this. accidents will happen and its very important to have your mattress dry!

Sound machine: Bella still sleeps with her white noise sounds machine, we secretly love it too.

Swaddle Blankets/ Swaddlers:  I love a thin blanket, think again about something breathable

Bottles: In this section, you’ll see two different types of bottles. Find one that assimilates your breast, and do not open them all and wash them! Some babies are very picky and you’ll end up with tons of bottles you may never use. We will be trying Como Tomo for the first time. We used the Playtex drop-ins with Bella so we will see with sissy.

Bottle Warmer: This one is a thermos on the go and it’s amazing!

Burp Cloths: It may be an easily forgotten item but you’ll need close to 6 of these.

Pump: Madela Style Pump. We have this pump and love it!

Storage Bags: A must if you are storing milk when you go back to work.

Cleaning Bags: I don’t remember just how many times we used our cleaning bags. So easy and everything can be cleaned at once. These are also good to sanitize pacis and bottle nipples.

Haakaa Suction cup: First time on this one too. This catches your milk from the other breast while you breastfeed in the other.

I mentioned this on IG stories before but Pampers is our go-to brand for diapers and wipes!

Changing pad liners: Again accidents happen and a small newborn has so many.

Oxi Clean: Enough Said!

Must Haves

Do not touch cushion: People love new babies but babies don’t love their germs. I love this and used it so much with Bella.

Carter’s Long-Sleeved onesies: My absolute favorites. Good for anything and everything

Halo Liner: I honestly believe you should have a waterproof liner for everything.

Nose Frida: I cannot express how much you’ll use this. Forget about all the electric ones. This is probably one of the best-made products out there.

Mittens: Any would be great, but those forget these. Most babies are born with long sharp nails. Your chest and their face will thank me.

Thermometer: We had another one when Bella was born and ended up falling in love with how easy and fast this one is, and the refills.

Levana: Just like the breathable mattress, this is for peace of mind. We had this one with Bella and it saved me a lot of sleep. It also scared us a few times but I preferred to get a false alarm than nothing.

Cameras: We will be upgrading our system but are not exactly sure which one to pick. Great thing that Buy Buy Baby has the biggest selection I’ve seen.

Dock-a-tot: Ask for this item. You need to believe me. It’s worth it 1000%. We didnt have this when Bella was born but got it when she was a bit older and it helped a lot. I will be sharing another post about this. It’s that good! I’ve recommended to many that skipped it and then later bought it themselves.

Dreft Pen: I bought this for the first time a while ago and it’s a lifesaver.

Wash Cloths: Find your favorite. Something soft and durable. The ladies at Buy Buy Baby recommend these so much.

Tub Support: The girls will most likely be taking a bath together once I’m able to bend down a bit more so this will be perfect.

Blooming Flower: This may not be for everyone, my husband hates it, but I loved it. As a C-section mama, it was heaven sent!

Robe/ Towels: I’m a fan of robes honestly! I love them. Check some of their towels here.

This section is pretty small, because I think you, as the mama, will be your baby’s biggest soother, but a paci always helps.

Just like bottles, don’t open them all. Open one of each and try them little by little.

About the Store

This is a very long post as is but I wanted to take the time to actually write about the store. As I’ve mentioned above, many people skip the stores now and just do any big brand store or online. I understand, but I will tell you that my experience with Buy Buy Baby was amazing. I honestly never thought I would love it as much! The attention, the help and more than anything the number of choices you have is over the top.

Processed with VSCO with a6 preset

I’m a very visual person and being able to see it online and drive to the store  and see it, was just a plus, and last but not least if you are anything like me, more often than not I’m running to the store the morning of a shower and they have everything in stock, with easy returns and free shipping.

Hope you enjoyed this post and feel free to email me if you have any questions.
