Chemical Free Laundry Scent Booster

This post contains affiliate links! Thanks for supporting my blog.

essential oil, young living

I’m all about saving money and I have mentioned it on here before but something I don’t skimp on is my family’s health. I made the switch to essential oils about 8 months ago and has saved my life and a few bucks too!

Im still learning but I wanted to answer one of the most asked questions I get.

What else do you use them for?

Let me be very honest, the oils are not cheap. I think that’s the main reason it took me so long to finally sign up. Now 8 months later I regret that decision full heartedly. I wish I had done it sooner! They don’t work like the oils you buy at the store! Most people make the mistake of buying them and thinking they’ll work the same way! They dont!

There are so many ways to use them that I couldn’t possibly list them in one post, but I today I want to share just one of their many uses aside from diffusing,

Laundry Scent Booster.

I make a huge batch and it lasts me up to 3 weeks or more and the cost is about $1.50 or less for the batch. Since I use the oils for other areas in my home it would be a bit difficult to calculate the exact amount but I’m very positive is even less than that!

Here is what you need:

An airtight container like this one or this.(comes in a set of 2) Great deal!

15 Drops of the Essential oils of your choice. (I use Lemon and Purification)

2 cups of Epsom Salts ( you can get yours at your local store cheaper)

1/2 cup of Baking Soda  (Great Price) I also use this for my carpet cleaner!

That is it!

Check the video below for the instructions and feel free to comment below or email me if you have any questions!

TTC Tips: Second Time Around

Thank you Clearblue® for sponsoring this post. The new Clearblue® Connected Ovulation Test System is now available at major retailers across the U.S. such as Walmart, Target, Amazon and Meijer. Visit a store near you to try it!.

Almost a year ago I posted on our thoughts of baby # 2, and we are coming up to Bella’s 3rd, yes, her third birthday and I won’t lie, it has been tough! Not only because my sweet baby is growing up, but I imagined our family with another baby already.

We always knew we wanted our kids close in age but the timing has been off. Bella’s birth was not at all what we imagined, she got ear-tubes this year and lastly, we said goodbye to our first home. A full year for sure!

Now that we are settling into our new home, and praying constantly for our future, the baby subject is being touched more often. We think about him or her and how perfect it will be when we are blessed with another little angel. Meanwhile, there were a few things that we have to do, and if you are TTC you may want to stick around. I’m no doctor, nor nurse but these are tips that have worked for us back then and we are hoping they work for us when we start trying!

A little History

My monthly visitor has never been my best friend! I would even say we hate each other’s guts. I had months with two visits and months where she never came. It was plain hard. I had a condition where my eggs would rupture before ever getting to my uterus which caused me a lot of pain. I was even told that it would be very close to impossible for me to be a mom due to that. It would happen every month, and most of the time, I would end up in the doctor or even the hospital due to the pain. Once I got married things changed a bit. My visitor would come every month, and little by little the pain subsided. I still take aspirin during those days to make it a little easier on myself.

Trying to Conceive

Know your days!

This is very hard for all of us, women! I’m a planner type of person but most of the time, I forget to write my days and have to look back in my messages to find when I texted my husband about it. I also tend to forget how long my cycle is, as not all of us have a 28-day cycle, which is the most important number when TTC. My body seems to ovulate a lot and would let me know but it was still very hard for me to know when was my highest day or when my visitor is close by.

When we were trying for Bella I had a really difficult time when my monthly visitor had its shift! It would break my heart as I always thought “this month for sure”. I remember testing so much I got to a point of hating pregnancy tests. It took us 3 months which is not long at all, but as I was a first-timer I thought it would happen on our first try! Silly right!

This time around I’m more than prepared for this. I got my Clearblue® Connected Ovulation Test System and I love the fact that I have the info on me at all times. My test syncs into my phone and I get alerts as to when to test and my “peak” ovulation day. Here is an easy video!

Take Vitamins

I start taking prenatal usually when we first touch the baby subject. It may be months before we actually agree on a time frame but my body needs it.

For some reason, before getting pregnant I can take gummy vitamins but when I’m actually pregnant the aftertaste kills me. I take these before and take these after.

Have fun!

This!!! When we were trying for Bella, it was my mission to get pregnant and forgot about the fun. I would then get stressed thinking if it happened or if it didn’t. Once I let go and just enjoyed spending time with my hubby things got amazing! TMI, but hey this post is about it all! Just last week we had a date and guess what we are having another one this weekend. Just the two of us!

On a more personal note, as I could get more personal, :). This is a tough time for many of us, so my only advice is to never take yourself too seriously. Don’t get me wrong trying for a baby is very serious but the whole trying part it’s very stressful. If you let that part get to you it will kill the joy. You know how the old saying goes, the journey is what matters!

Welcome home baby basket

“This post is sponsored by Carter’s; however, all thoughts and opinions expressed are my own.”

“Thank you, MAM, for partnering with me on this post. As always all thoughts and opinions are 100% my own

This past week we welcomed a new baby cousin, Lucas.  He is the most adorable little boy I have ever seen. I love babies and seeing them those first few hours changes your life forever. Holding what you once felt from the outside it’s just one more miracle from heaven, and it is also the cause of my baby fever!

I remember those first few hours of being a mom, holding my sweet and beautiful child in my hands and never wanting to let go. You can bet I was the mom that slept with the baby in the room. I just wanted to hold her and kiss her. But, those few days were not all very tranquil and beautiful. The first few days were really hard on us so I’ve come up with a welcome home baby basket to help you or all your mama friends!

Without further or due here are the items I put in that basket and I’ll explain along the way why I choose those items!

Welcome Home Basket:

  1. Carter’s bodysuits: One of my first lessons as a  mom was that there was going to be lots and lots of laundry along the way. These bodysuits are amazing, safe as per usual and super soft. (Carter’s is having a sweepstakes, more info at the end of this post) Click here to join the Twitter party!
  2. MAM Pacis and bottle: [Gifted] Here is the story on this one, After being home for a few days Bella was still not sleeping and losing weight, so we were told to had to supplement with formula. We tried and tried all my bottles and all my pacis and nothing worked. After thinking a bit we decided to sanitize a set we had gotten for free at the doctor’s office and Bella drank from them up until she was 4 months old. The shape of both, the paci and bottle of the MAM somehow were closer to my breast than any other and boy was I happy mommy to be able to make daddy a bottle of expressed milk and have him feed her.
  3. Bella B Naturals, butter, and body wash: [Gifted] As much as these are items for babies, I used these on myself still whenever handling a newborn. Many people still forget that they are sensitive and most shower gels are very strong. Plus they make awesome bubbles, per Bella 😉
  4.  A cute decorative cup. I got one very similar to this one to help me hold all of Bella’s pacis. It kept them out of eye and added a special touch to her room!
  5. A handmade anything. If you read a few of my posts you’ll know I’m not a good cook but I can crochet and bake, so I usually tend to pick one of those for my handmade item. Cupcakes or cookies are always welcome for new mamas. For this box, I made a crocheted bonnet! I’m thinking of doing a tutorial for some of my crochet items and adding a few to my Etsy shop for all of us who are always in a hurry!

A few extra tips:

I added a printable that was sent to me by one of my favorite companies Cozy but Etsy usually has a pretty long list of amazing printables!

Remember the basket, the items inside are important but remember the basket will also be used a lot.

Lastly, kiss those baby angels as much as you possibly can.

He tratado todo.

  • Raviolis Congelados
  • Prego® Italian Sauce (Traditional)
  • Pan
  • Spray de Aceite
  • Sal de Ajo
  • Campbell’s® Condensed Tomato Soup

<div class="curalate-widget" style="margin: 0 auto !important; position: relative !important; max-width: 1080px !important;" lang="en" data-widget-id="HZ1JWp4rlMl9hWbGlFIIM68XQxvQod2b" data-active-product-icon="tag" data-stretch-to-fit="false" data-shop-button-text="Buy Now!" data-auto-show-products="false" data-replace-tabs="false" data-custom-css-url-override="" data-custom-js-url-override="" data-widget-version="v1" data-max-width="" data-seo-use-nofollow="false"><img class="curalate-widget-image" style="display: block; margin: auto; border-radius: 3px; max-width: 100% !important; width: auto !important;" src=""/><script class="curalate-widget-script" async="" defer="" charset="utf-8" src=""></script></div>

Raviolis Fritos:

1 huevo

y listos.

Poner aceite a calentar y esperar.

Houston Zoo Fun!!

*This post contains some affiliate links. With a purchase from these links a small commission can be made, which helps keep this blog running. Thank you for your support*
I received product from Chicco, Wonder Well and Evian, which are shared in this post.
As always all thoughts and opinions shared are 100% my own.

This year, for the second year in a row, we made it our mission to buy the Zoo membership and get the most use out of it. Bella is a total animal lover.

Girl friend is afraid of frogs but elephants, tigers ad every big animal you can think she could really care less. She wants to pet them and can stare at them all day long.
So one Saturday out of the month we take our little crew to enjoy a zoo day.
We leave the house early, 7-8, and head to downtown Houston.  We get to enjoy some breakfast on the way and walk it out (lol) through the zoo.

Sometimes with kids trips are very unpredictable and as fun as they may be it can do downhill pretty fast.
I’ve put together a list of tips that have worked for us and we hope they work for you too.
I feel I should write the little notice you get when doing an exercises video, you know the one that reminds you to contact your doctor, well yeah I don’t know about your toddler but mine is as hard as the next INSANITY video when she is upset.
5 Tips to make a Zoo (or any park) fun and easy for the whole family.

1. Take it slow:  We do the zoo by sections, our zoo is so big that’s the only way to see it all comfortably. The first few times we went and attempted to do the entire zoo let’s just say we left there all grumpy and tired. Also our zoo has a splash pad so whenever we do the petting zoo we always finish at the splash pad.
2. Bring Food: I mentioned this a few post ago, but we need food AT ALL TIMES. Snacks, nothing big but have them prepared in zip lock bags. This helps calm a melt-down in 0.3 seconds.

3. Have Refreshments: I know as a parent we always have this on hand, but we tried Wonder Well Water and Bella slurps it down in seconds. I has a dash of fruit flavor but with no added sugars. It literaly makes them think that they are having juice with out the total sugar rush.
Use code THECHOME to get 10% of your order

4. Have a comfortable ride: We take our stroller and cannot imagine doing the zoo with out it.  We have the Chicco Viaro and use it daily whether for special trips or running around in the neighborhood. Is high enough to allow her to see the animals, comfortable enough to let her fall asleep when she is worn out and it has not one but two drink holders… And yes she uses both of them. Sometimes for her drinks and another times for her feet. #toddlerlife.
5. Have the right products: Very vague I know but I’ll list a few of the products we take and cant go without.
Evian Facial Spray: Yes, is just what you think and let me tell you your body will thank you! Special if you live in the south.
Sunscreen: I’ve told you about this before and I’ll say it again. We trust this sunscreen so much
Bug Spray: As clean as any zoo may be there is always water and that water brings mosquitoes and many many more bugs so this is very very important.
KLEENEX and Wipes: Who are we kidding.
How do you make your family trips easier for the whole family?
