10 Ways to be Kind this Week

This week is world kindness week and with Thanksgiving around the corner what a better way to celebrate this week than by shining a light. Many times we tend to get upset at the rude people we encounter (me I honk like crazy-so bad I know) they need help. I find it, it can go two ways, they ruin your day or you improve theirs.

I vote for number two. As Christian this weighs on me so much. I’m not at my best many times and that’s what I show people. This is not to say that we need to be happy 24/7/365 no not at all, but the moment that we let our emotions take control we tend to lose sight of God and ourselves. So today I want to share 1o easy ways we can show kindness this week and pretty much every day of the year.

  1. Pay it Forward. Whatever drive-thru lane you are in pay for the person behind you.
  2. Compliment, Compliment, Compliment. There have been times where I’m feeling pretty lousy and a compliment lifts me up immediately. (FREE)
  3. Smile, just smile. A smile can brighten anyone’s day  (FREE)
  4. Offer the person behind you in line your spot if they seem rushed. (FREE)
  5. Give a homeless person a hot drink or money. I know many frown at this but honestly, if I give them money I’m honoring God. Whether they need it or not is not for me to judge.
  6. Pay the difference if the person in front of seems short.
  7. Write an old fashion thank-you note. I love anything handwritten.
  8. Pray for those around you. They may not see the change immediately but God works in wondrous ways.
  9. Let that special person know just how special they are. I love getting my husband his favorite snack. It’s very little but I love to see his reaction when he sees them. (gummy bears)
  10. Lastly, ask someone how they are doing and really listen. Many times people just need someone to listen to them.

Just an extra….

11. As a blogger I think this is very important, be kind online. Would you say whatever it is you are saying to your kids o even in front of them?

What’s in my Amazon Cart

Hey guys,

I’ve been thinking of doing a little series of everything that I’m currently loving from Amazon and a few things that I have in my cart at the moment, that will be purchased sometime this month. I honestly try my best to only purchase 2-3 items every so often but it always has a way of pulling me back so if you are like me this post is for you!

  1. This is brand new. So here is the back story, we were on the hunt for sectional and as much as we looked for something on the darker side nothing really caught our attention. 6 months later we have a beige coach that is full of stains because, hello we have two kids, and I saw a friend post this. Yup you bet I literary had heart eyes. Definitely getting this soon. And this is when you know you are an adult! you get excited about things like this!
  2. I honestly asked for Lester for this for Christmas and is one of the products I can’t live without. Every time I share it in stories I get asked about it!
  3. I got these for Camilla this past weekend. I love that they are thick enough and have the little footie, not the straight leg ones if you know what I mean.
  4. These are totally part of my real and doupes post coming u. Super excited about this, but these are definitely on my Christmas list.
  5. There is a funny story about this item. My husband has changed his car 3 times in the past 4 years or so, really. and every time we leave this in each of the cars. So we are buying it again this year because what’s Christmas without Micheal Bubble.
  6. Lastly, I got these after a friend recommended them and I can’t wait to add them to everything as soon as Christmas gets closer.

Getting your Truck ready for Winter

This shop has been compensated. All opinions are mine alone. Thank you for supporting my family

The cool weather is just around the corner and we want to be ready. Even though let’s be honest, it doesn’t get too cold in Houston we still love to be prepared for those days and prepared in all aspects.

So today I’m sharing 3 tips on how we prepare our cars for winter or just those days where parenthood gets the best of you.

  1. Have a winter supply box. This is very important and it will vary for everyone and every state. We have an extra change of clothes for both girls, gloves for all of us, food, water, toilet paper, and paper towels, a heavy blanket, flashlight and 1-2 toys at the bottom of the bag. We also have diapers and baby wipes. We put ours in the truck of the truck in this neat Clevermade basket.
  2. Make sure your car is up to date in all inspections. Most states require your car/ truck to be inspected yearly but you can always go the extra mile and have a car tuneup when cooler weather gets close.
  3. Use the top oil for oil changes. This is key. Both of our cars are paid off and we keep up with all their maintenance to the t. This way we assure ourselves we are taking care of them. But this can get very expensive that’s why we take advantage of great deals on our oil changes. We use Rotella Truck oil in my husband’s new truck and it has been running amazingly.

And because I love saving make sure you go to your local Walmart and check for the #rotellagastruckrollback for extra savings. Keep in mind that if you are like me and don’t know anything about cars Walmart service is always available and can be done while you grocery shop.

I have shared a lot of recipes and foods that we give Cami, so today I will be sharing our schedule as a 7-month-old. I will say this, Cami just turned 7 months on 9/15 so it’s a work in progress.

6:30-7:00 Wakes up

7:30 Eats breakfast

8:00-8:30 Playing- We let her crawl around with a few toys to entertain herself.

8:30- Nurses or takes a bottle- Currently doing 4-6oz

8:30-10:00 Morning nap

10:00-11:00 Playing- She tends to either crawl all over the house, play in her playpen or jump in her bouncy.

11:00 Snack (of course, the NEW Nature’s Heart pouches have been our go-to lately) and nursing session

11:00-12:00 More playing

12:00-1:00 Lunch

1:00- 1:30 Nurses or takes a bottle

1:45-4:00 Afternoon nap

4;00-4:30 Afternoon snack

5:00-5:30 Nurses or takes a bottle

5:30- 6:15 Plays. Again she is pretty much all over the house. We also add a bath in this time.

6:15-6:45 Dinner

7:00-7:30 Small nap. This nap helps us if we go to church that evening.

7:30-9:00 Family time. Playing and being carried.

9:00-9:15 Bedtime. If we go to church it’s pushed a little but she falls asleep on the way home.

She will usually wake up anywhere from 11-2am nurses or takes a bottle and back to sleep until 6-7.

Cami is a busy girl so when she is up she is moving and all over the place so keeping her fed and strong is very important. Nature’s Heart has made this so easy!

I tend to make her food from scratch but I make it in batches. I cook one time a week and that will last me 3-4 days. Some weeks I just don’t have the time, so on those days, I count on Nature’s Heart baby food to keep her going! Knowing these wholesome organic baby purees are made from the best, make my mom heart so happy! Plus Cami loves the taste so it’s a win-win! Pick up yours today at your local HEB!

Low Fat, No Bake Mini Cheesecakes

Have I told you how much of a sweet tooth I have?

Well if not let me fill you in. I’m in love with anything and everything sweet and if you are like me, this recipe is for you!

Plus is super quick and there is no baking involved!

Unfortunately, I’m going to be a bad blogger and not show you any of the processes photos since it was that quick!

You’ll need:

  1. Blender
  2. Mini cupcake pan

Ingredients:

2 blocks of low-fat cream cheese

1 can of La Lechera fat-free condensed milk

1 box of Keebler Graham crust

1 cup of any low-fat butter or even coconut oil

Steps:

  1. Mix the cream cheese and condensed milk.
  2. Melt butter and mix with Graham Crumbs
  3. While the cream cheese and condensed milk mix completely start setting the crumbs in the mini cupcake pan.
  4. With a small spoon pour mixture  in the pan
  5. Set for 2 hours

And that’s it!

Easy right! The best thing they are delicious and “considered” low-fat!

You like that trick, so you can eat it during the week when your toddler is driving you up the wall accompanied with a great cup of coffee!

Hope you enjoy it!
