The Ultimate breastfeeding supplement List

Some of the products listed were gifted but as always all opinions are my own.

Breastfeeding is the hardest thing I have ever done. I know it comes so easy for many but the rest of us are stuck in a very ugly place.  In my case, I have never produced enough. I had the same issue with Bella and I promised myself to not stress about it with Cami. Fast forward a few months I did stress about it and I looked everywhere to remedy my issue. As I searched for products or tips I also found a whole group on moms looking for the same thing. We all asked each other what worked and as I tried a thousand and one things I’m sure they all did too.

The thing with breastfeeding is that we all want it so bad. We all want to produce and to have enough for our little people.

This took me on a wild goose chase looking for every product and food that would increase my supply.

I honestly wish this post had a happier ending but I will tell you now, it doesnt, but it does have a list of products I used, and many of them I still continue using. Many of them were gifted by the brand and others I bought just to give you all a good outlook at all the products out there.

That being said, there are so many products out there still if any of you know about them please let me know and I will add them to the list.

 

Let’s start with the basics;

Brewers Yeast: Work amazingly well. When I take it gives me a good .75-1.5 oz extra. Still adding to my shakes

Flax Seed: I add this to my shakes or yogurt. Really good as well.

Mother’s Milk Tea: This worked really good with Bella and now with Cami not as good. Will def. give it another chance.

Mrs Patel’s Milk Water Tea: I didnt get an increase with this tea. I still have some left. Will try again in a few weeks.

Mrs Pastel Treats: No increase.

Milk Flow Drink Mix: One of my fav mixes. You can find them at your local Target and very delicious. Did get a little increase from this. The most I got was .5 oz extra combined.

Milk Machine (Euphoric Herbals): This worked great with Bella and many of the moms I know but did nothing to me.

Lush Leche (Euphoric Herbals): Nothing either, but my milk had more fat content, so that’s a plus.

Dairy Diva (Euphoric Herbals): Nothing Either.

Lechita (Legendary Milk): I didn’t finish taking this supplement. Every time I took it I would fall asleep so fast.

Liquid Gold (Legendary Milk): Nothing with this.

Lactavist (Legendary Milk): Nothing

Pump Princess (Legendary Milk): Nothing

Sunflower Lecithin (Legendary Milk): This is a must for me. Take it daily. It keeps clogged ducts away and it helps with the milk flow.

Tea-tas tea: Tried a few times and didn’t see an increase. Will try again in a few weeks.

Milkflow cookies: Delicious. Loved them and did get a very small increase from them.

Kaimade cookies: So so good! My supply also went up with these. .25-.75 oz. Great mama company as well.

Miracle Milkookies: Probably my favorite cookies. Super sweet mama too. These cookies come gluten-free too!

I also tried Liquid IV and Nuun tablets to keep my hydration up in the early days. Will try again now that summer is approaching. I prefer Nuun tablets as they are not as sweet.

The famous pink drink from Starbucks: Yes, it’s very sugary but it works and is delish.

Oatmilk: I honestly can tell on this one. Nonetheless, I do add it to my oatmeal. I want to try the chocolate oat milk next.

Coconut water: No. As much as I love coconut I have not seen an increase with this. Still, I drink it because I love it.

Something to keep in mind is that every “body” is different and every product will have different results on different people. I will give most of these products a second round as we continue our breastfeeding journey as short or long as it may be.

Other info: I did see a Lactation Consulted and we were told that Cami’s latch was not deep which didn’t help our process. We have continued trying to get a good latch and I end up pumping most of the times due to this. I gave each of the supplements 7-12 days to work and of course, added a whole lot of water. Also, don’t forget your pre-natal!

I recommend everyone to go see an LC if possible and do your research, there are many places that do it for free.

If you are in the midst of all of this, do remember your baby needs a healthy mom and that’s really all it matters. If you chose to stop breastfeeding, that is perfectly fine just as if you chose to continue. These words don’t do it justice, your baby needs you healthy.

    This was great info, I noticed an increase with the Starbucks pink drink too and with fenugreek I noticed a huge increase but I always smelt like maple syrup
