Happy Tuesday Guys!

I’m writing again this week…. like What!!!?

But I am trying my best to be on here more and share more of our life lately. We are always on the run and I really want to remember these years. We also are under renovations and gosh if you have seen my stories you know the heartache and headache I have been going through lately!

Now, today is Giving Tuesday, and if you have seen a few of my posts lately I’m all for giving especially this time of year. I have rounded up a few more options for you all.

Huggies and Kroger: Everytime you purchase a Big Pack of Huggies or 2 Jumbo packs Huggies will donate a day supply of diapers to the National Diaper Bank Network.

Pura Vida Bracelets: Pura Vida will donate 10% of your total purchase to families in need in Costa Rica.

Diff Eyewear: I love this company and usually work with them. Their glasses have the best quality ever and today they are doubling their charity, just today

TOMS: Most of us know about the work that TOMS does but you can click here to learn more. With every purchase, they donate to families in need. Use the link above to get FREE shipping on orders of $64 or more.

That’s all for me today but please let me know if you know of any others and I will add to the list and share on Instagram!

Hope you all have a great Tuesday and remember to give back a little bit even if it’s in the coffee lane!

Giving Back this Holiday Season with HUGGIES!

The holiday season is upon us, before we know it it would be Thanksgiving, then Christmas and over in the blink of an eye. Yet anyone you ask will most likely tell you it’s their favorite time of the year. Don’t know what it is, but we all love very much. I’m one of those people that love everything about it, what they stand for and the closeness that it brings to our homes, but every year I fail at giving back.

I tell myself I want to give back, I want to share what I have been so kindly given, but we are always short on time. Between the work, church and family parties time flies faster as the years go by and we push giving back until next year.

This year I’m happy to say we have started on the right foot, Kroger and Huggies have teamed up and created an easier, yet effective way for all of us to give back. Until December 5, everytime you buy a HUGGIES diapers Big Pack or 2 Jumbo Packs you will not only get a free pack HUGGIES wipes but HUGGIES will donate a one day supply of diapers (up to 1 million) to the National Diaper Bank Network.

If you are a parent you know how useful diapers are, you know the huge need for them and I was very surprised to learn that 1 in 3 parents have difficulty proving diapers for their littles. I honestly cannot imagine my life without diapers, not now that I have a semi-potty trained daughter nor the day she was born. I can’t imagine having that need, but most of the time we take that for granted. We take the ability to buy diapers and to be gifted for granted because it comes so easy for many of us, but we tend to forget about everyone else.

I remember coming home from the hospital and having a set schedule, funny right, for diaper changes, which soon went out the window. We used more diapers than what we estimated because Bella didn’t like to be wet or poopy, so to imagine not having enough just hurts my mama heart.

Like always change is in our hands, so I invite you to visit your local Kroger this holiday season to purchase your diaper needs and give back. It’s so easy because most of us need diapers on a daily basis and there are Kroger everywhere, so let’s make this season different. Let’s give back and help moms like you, me, your sister and neighbor.

Dressing Our Princess this Holiday Season

“This post is sponsored by Carter’s; however, all thoughts and opinions expressed are my own.”

This last year Bella has really shown us her beautiful personality. She wants to be a doctor who dresses like a princess, don’t ask me, but its the cutest thing ever. Which means we have a walking, talking and running princess who loves all things pink and girly. She only wants to wear tutus, dresses and if it was up to her, she would have her church shoes on all day, every day.

As a mom, I have to confess, dressing her has been a bit difficult these last few weeks. This is something I really never imagined would happen. I have been the mom who overthinks everything and buys many of her clothes ahead of time. Little did I know that I would be faced with a threenager who doesn’t always love what I pick out for her.  So I was happy to partner with Carters and had a blast shopping at their store.

I was able to let her choose two of the outfits we bought and didn’t feel like we were walking out with only pink gear. Their clothes are cozy, durable, and best of all they have such a variety to choose from.

We, of course, had to have all the tutu looking skirts in their Holiday Line to dance around while GOOGLE plays Christmas music and the temperatures get cooler. The pajamas also needed to have a tutu and she even wears it during the day. Real life here! I seriously tell you, this stage is difficult but it’s my favorite so far!

Now, let’s talk about the awesome deals!

Every year Carters has amazing deals on Black Friday and this year will do it justice, and you my friend, get the scoop before anyone else.

  • I love any program that gives back and Carter’s believes that every child deserves a good night so they are partnering with Pajama Program, an organization that provides children new pajamas from November 1st – December 31st. All you have to do is donate a pair of new pajamas in store or make a monetary donation at check out (instore or online). Carter’s will match up to 100,000 pairs of pajamas. Giving Back with Layers of Love

This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and The Coca-Cola Company. All opinions are mine alone. #LayerOnLove #CollectiveBias

If you been around here for a while you know I’m not a fan of the hot and humid Texas weather, but let me completely honest, my Cuban blood freezes in the 50s. I remember my first Texas winter and how cold I was, I even remember my mom putting double gloves and double jackets with the warmers underneath. I could go on for days on this subject but in Cuba, there was and still is so much need and now that I have so much, in my eyes, I considered myself so truly blessed.

Yup, and till today, I’m guilty of owning too many jackets and wearing a few layers of them when it gets cold out. I’m the person that dreams of winter outfits and then won’t wear any of it because adding a Michelin looking jacket to every outfit does not work and being without a huge chunky jacket is not a possibility!

Yet, if we think about it, it is!

15% of the US population is in poverty and can’t buy a jacket, let alone a huge one like the one I need! For them, a jacket is something extra, not needed just because they have other things that come first.

I want to share with you how Coca-Cola™ Layer on the Love is partnering with Walmart and One Warm Coat. I want to make the change and change start with me.  Coca-Cola will donate close to home.

It’s been in our minds for years and yet we have never had the “time” but this year we are ready and thanks to this partnership you will be ready to help too. This doesn’t take hours or even days to do and you can do it from your phone in seconds

Simply text LOVE to 501501 to donate $5 to One Warm Coat. Join us and let’s help our neighbors out!

This winter we will also pass out gloves to those in need to put our time in and show Bella face to face the need and so she learns to take nothing for granted. I want to show her race has nothing to do with kindness. I want her to remember her Cuban and Guatemalan roots and that it’s her job to remind people anybody can do it!

It’s sad to think that many Latinos feel ashamed to ask for help and a friendly face can change that, but if we as Latinos don’t step up and show our people it’s ok they will never know.
