Guest Post: Candice

Today I’m featuring a great and gorgeous mama I met through Instagram! I love this whole blogging world and meeting new mamas is one of my favorite things!

And guys Candice is bringing us a hair tutorial because you gotta know even though we are moms we need to always look are best.

Hi babes,

Finally I’m talking about the big “H” aka “Hair”! For those of you who know me or see my photos I’m a hair fanatic! So tonight you can shop all my hair products which I have found to be the best.  I’m extremely sensitive when it comes to my hair. I generally try to treat my hair like a prized possession.  Yes, easier said than done.  Long hair can come with hiccups as well like those unwanted knots. My hair is notorious for getting knotted even if it’s in a ponytail. So first off my tip to prevent a knotty mess is put it in a bun! Hey, I know what you’re thinking….. you’re remembering back to middle school when the librarian wore a bun. Ladies buns are back in style and extremely cute these days you can do a messy bun or a tight knotted one. Plus there are so many cute accessories to add that your hair will always look on point. See below my hair not washed in over a week full of dry shampoo.

4 Products to a better skin

As a mom there is one question I get asked alot, what do I do to pamper myself?

When I first become I mom, this was somehting I had no idea how t answer. I didnt want to be a moment away from  my babe and didnt even feel the need to alone or to have a few moments alone.

Now I’m the proud mama of a toddler who teaches the energizer bunny about energy, if you get what I’m saying, and I also discovered that I need me time. Time to re-charge my batteries, time to make myself presentable and to just enjoy being a woman.

I discovered that getting my nails done is my me time, I do this every 2 weeks and it’s glorious. I feel the prettiest women every if my nails are presentable, but there is one thing that as time passes I never get it any thought!

My skin!

I’m not a 21-year-old girl anymore I’m so close to 30 I feel it in my bones, so my skin needs the help and the hydration. So When I was invited to try the following creams, scrubs and wipes I knew I had to do it.

And if you know me enough from reading my posts, you know I love a good deal so enough talking and let’s get to the good stuff.

Ok, these products are found at your local Walmart, so on the same trip to pick up groceries you can get all of them, now you just need is a few minutes, a good cup of coffee and you are ready to go.

  1. Noxzema Classic Cream. This cream smells amazing and leaves your skin feeling refreshed. The eucalyptus makes your skin tingle. I have used Noxema a few times before with my acne prone skin.
  2. Pond’s Dry Skin Cream. This is one of the holy grails for me. I have a mix of oily and dry skin so I can apply Pond’s all over my face and not have a bad reaction or acne in the oily patches. I love this cream specifically for the winter. I keep a small of their tubs in my diaper bag and spread it on my hands and face.
  3. Simple Cleansing Wipes. If you’re a makeup gal you need these. You can say goodbye to all the expensive liquids and creams. These will remove even the dirt your child through you playing at the park last week.
  4. ST. Ives. This is a new one for me and it was just what I needed. I have tried a few scrubs, body scrubs and I can tell you they are not made the same way! This restores your face.

These are the perfect combination, and all you ever need under $40 for all.Is your skin ready for the change and are you ready to dedicate more time to yourself?

Low Fat, No Bake Mini Cheesecakes

Have I told you how much of a sweet tooth I have?

Well if not let me fill you in. I’m in love with anything and everything sweet and if you are like me, this recipe is for you!

Plus is super quick and there is no baking involved!

Unfortunately, I’m going to be a bad blogger and not show you any of the processes photos since it was that quick!

You’ll need:

  1. Blender
  2. Mini cupcake pan

Ingredients:

2 blocks of low-fat cream cheese

1 can of La Lechera fat-free condensed milk

1 box of Keebler Graham crust

1 cup of any low-fat butter or even coconut oil

Steps:

  1. Mix the cream cheese and condensed milk.
  2. Melt butter and mix with Graham Crumbs
  3. While the cream cheese and condensed milk mix completely start setting the crumbs in the mini cupcake pan.
  4. With a small spoon pour mixture  in the pan
  5. Set for 2 hours

And that’s it!

Easy right! The best thing they are delicious and “considered” low-fat!

You like that trick, so you can eat it during the week when your toddler is driving you up the wall accompanied with a great cup of coffee!

Hope you enjoy it!

Why I still rock my 2 year old!

Today I lost my patience a little too much, screamed a lot more than I’m willing to accept and took one too many Tylenols to deal with a headache I had inflicted on myself.

This, was motherhood for me today.

My daughter Bella, a very active 2 years old, is at the “testing” stage. She tests my patience, she tests her every limit and she tests her voice most all of all. Her constant screaming which always follows with my lack of patience and depending on where we are at a time out or a spanking, yes, spank my child.

Her constant screaming is out of hand, which always follows with my lack of patience and depending on where we are at a timeout or a spanking.

Today was one of those days where she wasn’t having it. She didn’t want to nap, she didn’t want to eat and wanted nothing to do with mommy. She wanted gummies, endless horsie rides at Kroger and just daddy.  2’o clock came around and I had to push a nap in for me and her, which I believe is where the entire problem lies. She is wanting to skip naps yet her body and mind are not ready for that, so we had to push a late nap in and as it is accustomed

She wanted gummies, endless horsie rides at Kroger and just daddy.  2’o clock came around and I had to push a nap in for her and me, so we had to push a late nap in and as usual I rock her to sleep.I have done this since the first time I could sit up straight after my C-section.  When she was little we did it because I breastfed her and as time passed we continued to do it. There were times that I was already too tired and just wanted to go to sleep, or do laundry or clean but I had to rock Bella, that was the only way she would fall asleep.I won’t lie at times I hated it. I had many other things to do.  I google for help, called friends and ask as many people as possible but nothing worked, so I did the next best thing, I kept doing it.

I have done this since the first time I could sit up after my C-section.  When she was little we did it because I breastfed her and as time passed we never stopped. There were times that I was already too tired and just wanted to go to sleep, or do laundry or clean but I had to rock Bella, that was the only way she would fall asleep.I won’t lie at times I hated it. I had other things to do.  I google for help, called friends and ask as many people as possible but nothing worked, so I did the next best thing, I kept doing it.

Almost 2 years in I discovered why God wanted me to continue, because motherhood is hard, probably the hardest thing I have done in my life. It takes everything out of you, you no longer sleep, there is no such thing as eating or drinking anything hot and you will never be the first in again, but gosh is the most rewarding and loving job in the universe. That, in its self, is why I still rock my 2-year-old and why I will continue to rock her until she lets me.

Because I will lose my patience and my cool too many times in the years or long days to come but I still have that 15-30 minutes session of rocking, where we pray, talk, and where you can find my crying my eyes out at the fact that God choose me to love on this 2 feet exploding ball of joy, energy, and sass. That He loved me enough to let me experience a tiny bit of what He feels for me. That He has given me this healthy loving child to teach me that motherhood may take everything out of me to put in a blender and make it the most delicious smoothie I have ever tried. This is motherhood, this is real love.

I’m blessed to be a mom! I’m blessed to be Bella’s mom!

So you can find me spending almost an hour a day rocking my babe to sleep and loving every bit of it because this is my joy, my moment to reflect and apologize to not only my daughter and God but to myself as we all tend to treat ourselves too badly.

I encourage you, whether is staring at your angel sleeping or like me, rocking them to bed, take that moment and think about your journey in this crazy motherhood road and love every bit of it. This will make those 2 very long minutes of screaming, tantrums and just disobedience that much easier.
